Love working in a kitchen and serving up great food? A Northeast Nebraska bar & grill is looking for a dependable Cook to join their team. Prepare hearty meals, help keep the kitchen running smoothly, and be part of a hardworking crew that feels like family.
Responsibilities for Cook:
Prepare and cook menu items such as burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, steaks, and fried foods
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies (food, sauces, utensils, etc.) before service
Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and flat tops safely and efficiently
Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature, portioned correctly, and presented consistently
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations
Follow proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures (FIFO)
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely service
Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or needed supplies
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
Handle multiple orders at once in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and prepping for the next shift
Requirements for Cook:
Prior experience preferred
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Dependable and punctual
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours
