Essential Personnel is seeking enthusiastic candidates to fill the Lab Technician position in Des Moines, IA. Monday - Friday 1st shift position. Essential Personnel in Johnston, IA would like to hear from you! The ideal Lab Technician will have an understanding of genetics and molecular biology as well as genotyping platforms, including genotyping by assays and sequencing. Not a remote position.

Requirements for the Lab Technician:

• Bachelors in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field

• Demonstrate solving complex problems

• Strong people and project leadership skills

• Work independently and collaboratively 

• Desire to excel

Requirements for the Lab Technician:

• Support projects to evaluate, implement, and deploy new production genotyping platforms and methods

• Show strong propensity for record keeping with the ability to communicate complex technical to team members

• Show strong propensity for record keeping 

• Work effectively in team environment, demonstrate willingness to help others

• Understand germ plasm and breeding strategies
