We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join a local supplier company here in Columbus. The Saw Operator will be responsible for accurately cutting parts to length from aluminum extrusions and performing routine maintenance on equipment. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of shop safety practices and the ability to work independently.
Requirements for Saw Operator:
Knowledge of shop safety practices
Ability to read drawings and written instructions in English
Ability to read and use rulers, squares, vernier and dial calipers
General knowledge of metalworking practices
Skill in using common hand and power shop tools
Ability to drive a forklift truck is considered an advantage
Responsibilities for Saw Operator:
Set up guards, stops, and fixtures on extrusion saws
Accurately cut parts to length from aluminum extrusions using a power-driven circular saw
Move raw materials to the saw site and transport cut parts to other plant areas
Perform routine maintenance on extrusion saws, including lubrication, blade changes, and coolant replacement
Operate various shop machines and tools as required
Perform other duties as assigned
