Job Description

Are you passionate about food safety and quality assurance? Essential Personnel is seeking a Quality Control Lead for a dynamic food manufacturing facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in food production and a strong attention to detail to grow their career in quality assurance leadership.

Quality Control Lead Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all food safety procedures (GMP, SQF, HACCP) are followed

  • Supervise and train staff on food safety practices

  • Collect and document daily production samples per SOP and customer specifications

  • Monitor and validate Critical Control Points (CCPs)

  • Maintain and update SQF processes and internal auditing procedures

  • Review and verify production logs, paperwork, and finished goods labeling

  • Oversee product releases from hold and support customer audits and inspections

  • Coordinate with multiple departments on batch reports and production yields

  • Assist in implementing food standards such as Halal, Kosher, Organic, Gluten Free, etc.

Quality Control Lead Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ year experience in a food manufacturing environment

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office and production software)

  • Ability to read/write in English (Spanish is a plus)

  • Strong math skills and ability to convert units (metric/lbs)

  • Comfortable training and working with diverse team members

  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally

  • Able to work in hot/humid environments and wear PPE as needed

Preferred Experience for Quality Control Lead:

  • 2+ years in Quality Control in a food manufacturing setting

  • Familiarity with allergen controls, organic certification, and food labeling standards
